Be good to each other.
This applies at every meetup, in the group chat, and anywhere else the community gathers. It's short on purpose.
The short version
- Be kind. Assume people are doing their best. Disagree with ideas, not people.
- Be welcoming. Everyone is a beginner at something. No question is dumb, no stack is embarrassing.
- No harassment. No unwelcome comments about anyone's identity, body, or background. No intimidation, stalking, or unwanted attention — including after someone says stop.
- No hard selling. Sponsors and recruiters are welcome; pitching people who didn't ask is not.
- Respect the venue. Our hosts lend us their space for free. Leave it as you found it.
If something goes wrong
Tell an organizer — in person at the event, or via the contact link on this site. We'll listen, keep it confidential, and act. That can mean a conversation, a warning, or asking someone to leave and not come back. Organizers' decisions are final.
Scope and credit
Applies to all AWS User Group DFW events and online spaces. Loosely adapted from the community-standard Conference Code of Conduct. Questions? Ask an organizer.
